A smart man once said to me "Slow down, It's about the journey." One of the things I loved about doing theatre was the transformation throughout the rehearsal period to opening night to closing night. The evolution of how a piece of art takes form is complex and fascinating. The natural world also evolves and grows and will look different than it does now. The journey inbetween these starting and ending points is like watching a flower bloom in slow motion. Quite beautiful.

You are so right. Many of us, especially those of us that are less creative and I count myself among them, take for granted the blood, sweat and tears that go into the perfect "piece." Your article brought the inspiration of art to life and calls me back to visit the wonderful, vibrant art community in the Columbia Gorge. Thanks.
