AniChe Cellars is a small family winery located in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge. We make wines with an eye to European tradition with a particularly Washington State sense of terroir and style. Our wines are almost entirely varietal blends, believing that wine varietals are very much like people and dogs, with an egalitarian mixing up of characteristics to create interesting nuances and surprising complexity and beauty (think Halle Berry, mutts and Bordeaux). Our fruit comes from Washington state’s plethora of renowned AVA’s, including our very own Columbia Gorge AVA.

Mt. Hood Independent Flim Series presents Crimes of the d'Autremont Brothers

June 26, 2013

Columbia Center for the Arts presents the monthly Mt. Hood Independent Film series on June 26 at 7:30 p.m. with two short films The Crime of the d’Autremont Brothers by Tom Olsen
On October 11, 1923, Ray, Roy, and Hugh d'Autremont held up Train #13, of the Southern Pacific Railroad just outside of Ashland, Oregon. Four train men were murdered. The brothers were found four years later and sentenced to life in prison. The Crime of the d'Autremont Brothers is a one-hour documentary detailing this 'last great American train robbery.' The story is told through their lawyer who fought for their parole, and a documentary filmmaker who struggled to make a 1973 documentary on the subject. Both the 1973 filmmaker and Tom Olsen will be in attendance for this rare opportunity to see this film!
And
Brightwood by Lautaro Gabriel Gonda
Sparrow, age 10, wakes one morning to find a nest of baby mice in her sock drawer. Attempting to care for them, she takes them with her on her mysterious daily routine. Bicycling through the forest, along the beach and quiet rural roads, collecting various found treasures. Along the way the mice face danger, including a hungry fox and a swirling creek.

Deep in the forest, Sparrow has created a sanctuary in a run-down house, where she keeps her treasures and hides from the rest of the world. She brings the baby mice here, but is unable to care for them.

Sparrow returns home and finds her parents in the kitchen, and the reason for her need to find a family is revealed. She faces a challenge greater than any child should.
These films are not rated; total run time is 1 hour and 30 minutes. Show time is 7:30p.m. Tickets are $5 at the door. Columbia Arts is located at 215 Cascade Ave. in downtown Hood River.
